Lifting off from the Retreat, this airborne odyssey culminates in the majestic wilderness of Iceland's untamed highlands. Beginning with Reykjavik and the Glymur waterfall in Hvalfjörður, the outbound journey encompasses the Golden Circle, a landing on the mammoth Langjökull glacier (weather permitting), and a voyage to Highland Base—a remote hospitality outpost where you'll enjoy a hearty lunch followed by hot-spring bathing or an adrenalizing hike through the otherworldly terrain. Your return flight to the Retreat will take you across Landmannalaugar, Þórsmörk, Sólheimasand, the south coast, and the astonishing extinct craters of the recent volcanic eruptions on the Reykjanes Peninsula.
